Erinn was incredible at naming the precise things that I suspected were wrong in my manuscript, but couldn’t figure out myself. Because her knowledge of craft is so deep, and because she’s a natural teacher, I came away from my edit with Erinn not only with a stronger manuscript, but with new and sharpened tools that I’ll carry with me for every future project- Simon Gadke, novelist and screenwriter

Erinn’s always provided great concision, insight, and care, ultimately improving the language and making things easier for me and my readers- Andrew Patterson, writer and EVERYSEEKER director

Erinn is a magician: inclusive and insightful; furiously logical and immensely generous. Generous both in terms of the intelligence she applies and the openness of spirit she brings to the text. I can’t tell you how grateful I’ve been for the help- Rosa Rankin-Gee, novelist and creative consultant

I always had a love of words. My younger brothers came to me for help with English essays. My mother, a school teacher, had me check over her writing for her spelling mistakes. I had a knack for correcting sentences that sounded wonky, or words that didn’t look right. But there wasn’t just a vein of the persnickety running through me, I had imagination and vision when it came to language, I was a natural storyteller. As I continued to develop my own path as a writer, along the way I found myself aiding others in the clarification of their ideas, and assisting them in shaping the stories they wanted to tell.

When I reflect on the work I’ve done I’m amazed at just how far and wide my editorial touch has reached. I co-wrote my grandfather’s memoirs. I founded an artist and writer’s residency, in Italy, and in doing so, created promotional material, business plans, websites, travel directions, manuals, recipes, and more. During the residency’s biannual, five-year-run, I met with dozens of writers, and after carefully having read their manuscripts, used my editorial role to help them with everything from grammar, tone, word choice, sentence structure to thorough development edits. I taught classes on the craft of writing. Later, for an internationally renowned literary festival, I wrote grant proposals, newsletters, website updates, created writer bios and event descriptions, as well as ran their literary contest, which garnered thousands of entries.

With my background in fine art and art history, I’ve been fortunate to work with several artists, penning catalogue essays, interviews, articles and press releases for galleries and museums. I also worked for many years in restaurants, and as it happens, wrote a lot of chef bios, restaurant menus, mission statements, and restaurant publicity, even editing a blog series about the trials and tribulations of opening a restaurant. I was a food critic, a book reviewer, and my college newspaper’s copy editor. I was hired by a design agency to create the content for a condo development magazine. I love working with fellow writers on short stories and full-length novels, offering line by line assessments and overall manuscript reviews.

Whatever the discipline or project, my goal is always to support the client and help them progress to their desired outcomes. So often we just need someone else to help identify those troublesome areas, so that the language is smooth and the narrative progresses naturally.
